COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — The Columbus International Festa-Val highlighted the importance of celebrating diverse cultures on Saturday.
This is the second year the event has taken place. All those who attended were able to enjoy games and a diverse variety of foods. There were also performances by a mariachi band and an Indian percussion group.
The founder of Festa, Kim Emch, said the goal of this festival is to bring the world to our communities so that people can have healthy relationships with everyone.

“We can celebrate the beautiful differences and also celebrate the things we have in common,” Emch said. “Every mom and dad I meet wants the same thing for their children as I want for my children.”
In the coming years, this event is expected to continue to help build a more thriving multicultural community throughout Columbus.
“I’ll probably never have the resources to travel the world but the world can come right here to our town, our country and to have an event that’s called the Columbus International Festa-Val brings everyone together,” Emch said.
