Reynoldsburg man who fatally stabbed boyfriend at Bexley apartment sentenced

A Reynoldsburg man will spend at least 15 years in prison after admitting to fatally stabbing his boyfriend in Bexley.

Stewart Dreier, 40, pleaded guilty Friday to voluntary manslaughter and felonious assault in the March 28, 2022, stabbing death of his boyfriend, 30-year-old Jordan T. Brown.

Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Karen Held Phipps ordered Dreier to serve 15 to 20½ years in prison.

Around 1:50 p.m. on March 28, 2022, a woman called Bexley police to report a strange man had put a dog in her vehicle. According to court records, the woman thought the man may be intoxicated or in mental health crisis. Officers went to the Bexley House Apartments on the 2800 block of East Broad Street and met the woman.

Dreier also spoke with officers, telling them he had put the dog in the vehicle after killing someone in a nearby apartment, court records state. Officers went to the apartment Dreier indicated and found Brown with obvious stab injuries to his upper body. Brown died at the scene.
