Playful dog looking for her forever home for the holiday season

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – This week’s adoptable dog is Tinsel, she’s about a year old and is a Pitbull mix at the Franklin County Dog Shelter.

Tinsel first came to the shelter in 2023 and was adopted out as a puppy, but recently returned to the shelter as a stray. According to Hannah Henschen, the animal care manager at the shelter, Tinsel is very active, playful, loves toys and she even knows some tricks.

“She knows sit and shake really well,” Henschen said. “She’s very food motivated, although she can be a little picky with her treats… she prefers the higher-value treats.”

Along with her fun and smart personality, Tinsel is full of energy and would be good with anyone at any age, as long as they keep her active with walks or a big yard to play in. Initially, Tinsel was very shy, but has come out of her shell.

Henschen also mentioned that Tinsel is “selective” with her dog friends. It’s recommended Tinsel meets resident pets that are in the home prior to adoption or doing a foster to adopt to make sure it’s a good match.
