Ohio State regularly experiences success, both on the field and with their players making an impact in the NFL. But with the amount of talent they usually possess, some players get overlooked. That was the case with Jameson Williams , who was asked about his experience with Ohio State before he transferred to Alabama, on a recent podcast.

Appearing on Amon-Ra St. Brown’s podcast, he shared his thoughts on his time with the Buckeyes

So why did Williams transfer? He believes he wasn’t given an opportunity, but it is impossible to fault Ohio State for that since they had Garrett Wilson , Chris Olave and Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the depth chart ahead of Williams. All three were elite college wide receivers and all are still excelling in the NFL. Even the tight end, Jeremy Ruckert , is currently in the NFL, so opportunities for pass receptions were hard to come by.

Should he have stayed for one more season to see if more of an opportunity would arise? Considering the statistics for the following 2021 season, that likely would not have worked out for Williams, since Wilson, Olave, Smith-Njigba and Ruckert all had more productive seasons and Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka were also on the roster. It was an embarrassment of riches for the Buckeyes.
