COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Multiple counties, particularly in south central Ohio, have issued snow emergencies to coincide with Tuesday’s winter weather.

The latest forecast calls for snow near and below Interstate 71 moving to the east, with some lingering snow showers remaining behind.
As defined by the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness, there are three classifications for snow emergencies:

Level 1 snow emergencies
Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.
These central Ohio counties are under Level 1 :

- Guernsey County
- Morgan County
- Noble County
- Perry County
- Pickaway County
- Scioto County
Level 2 snow emergencies
Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution…
