Franklin Co. Juvenile Court criticized after teen’s arrest warrant lifted before shootout

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Demands for a review are targeting Franklin County Juvenile Court after ABC 6 On You Side Investigates uncovers a teen wanted for aggravated robbery had his arrest warrant “lifted” and is accused of shooting at police while out on the street.

“I wanted to know who released this individual,” Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge #9 President Lt. Brian Steel told ABC 6 News. “Who allowed this individual back on our streets and why?”

Police arrested the teen, 17, in January after they responded to a domestic violence call in south Columbus. They say the teen’s girlfriend had jumped out of a second-story window.
