Attorney General Sues Ohio Furniture Store For Allegedly Scamming Customers Out Of $380,000

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has filed a lawsuit against Burke Décor, a Youngstown-area retailer specializing in luxury home décor, after receiving more than 350 complaints from customers who reported paying for furnishings that never arrived. The expected damages are in excess of $380,000.

Yost filed the claim in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, hoping to hold the company and its owner, Erin Burke, accountable and obtain recompense for misled customers. “Consumers paid for high-end furnishings but ended up with only frustration,” according to Yost. “My office gave this company the opportunity to make this right, but empty promises don’t fill homes.”

Burke Décor has two physical stores in Boardman, Ohio, and Los Angeles, California, as well as an outlet in Youngstown. BurkeDecor.com is also a website where the company sells home goods…
