COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Two members of the violent street gang known as “Bantu Life” were sentenced Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of a man on the West Side in 2022 — a case that shook the Hilltop’s Wedgewood community and led to a broader crackdown on gang-related violence.
Hussein Bilal, 23, and Abdulkadirshendy Ahmed, 20, both pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter with a firearm and criminal gang specifications. Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Kim J. Brown sentenced each of them to 15 to 20 1/2 years in prison.
