COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – The third of three murder suspects has been brought to Franklin County, 11 months after an alleged drug deal led to a shooting and car crash in east Columbus.
According to court documents, 21-year-old Destin Rivers will face charges in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, more than two months after he was arrested in Michigan. Rivers, along with Deion Ray, 19, and Timothy Brown, 23, are accused in the murder of 28-year-old Shandar Weaver, who was found suffering from a gunshot wound in a crashed car .
Police report that on Feb. 28, 2024, Weaver was in contact with Ray and planned to purchase marijuana from him in an alley behind the 3100 block of East Main Street, near the James Road intersection in Eastmoor.
