The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Franklin Township Police Department, has released the results of a recent DUI checkpoint operation. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in a social media post, the sobriety checkpoint occurred in Prairie Township, on Norton Rd. South of W. Broad St., and ran from 8:00 pm to 12:30 am.
The post details that out of 500 vehicles in the zone, 185 were checked, and 36 were diverted. Despite the high number of vehicles assessed, law enforcement officials report that no DUI arrests were made during the operation. However, authorities did issue 25 citations overall. These included 20 drivers cited for license violations, three for vehicle registration violations, and two citations related to child restraint infractions.
