Judge cancels July trial date for Blendon Township police officer who shot, killed pregnant woman

A Franklin County judge canceled the July date for the murder trial of Blendon Township police officer Connor Grubb.

Grubb shot and killed 21-year-old Ta’Kiya Young and her unborn child in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store in 2023, while he was on duty. Young was accused of shoplifting from the Kroger located on South Sunbury Road. Grubb stood in front of her vehicle and shot Young within 30 seconds of approaching the vehicle.

Court records show Grubb’s defense asked for more time last month before the jury trial. A Franklin County judge approved the request this week and scheduled a hearing for 9 a.m. on May 21 to set a new trial date…
