COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Franklin County judge ruled Thursday that former Mount Carmel doctor William Husel’s defamation lawsuit against Mount Carmel Health System, Trinity Health Corporation and former executive Edward Lamb can proceed to trial.
Husel, who was acquitted in 2022 of 14 counts of murder in connection with the care of critically ill patients, alleges that the hospital system and its executives orchestrated a false media campaign portraying him in a negative light. He filed the lawsuit in December 2019.
