Violent Crimes investigators have made another arrest in connection to a deadly shooting in the city’s south end on Monday.
The shooting occurred during the afternoon hours of May 5, 2025, at Avalon Apartments, on Cusseta Road. 33-year-old Chastin Hunter was shot multiple times and later pronounced deceased at a nearby hospital. Hunter’s brother was also shot in the ordeal and is in stable condition at the same hospital.
Police arrested 17-year-old Anthony Pollard, Jr., with charges of murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime,on Monday.
Following an investigation, investigators arrested a second man in connection to the murder. 69-year-old Eugene Mabry was arrested on charges of murder, aggravated assault, and armed robbery.
