Man facing charges in connection with couple struck, killed in New Year’s crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The driver behind the wheel of a pick-up that struck and killed a Grove City couple, killing them, in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury Thursday.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day at the intersection of Alkire and Norton Roads near Bolton Field.

The couple, Keith Klatt, 56, and his wife, Joellen, 53, had been involved in a traffic accident, and their car was disabled in the middle of the intersection. The Klatts were out of their car when the pick-up hit their car hard enough to set off the airbags in the pick-up, pushing the car out of the intersection. The Klatts were hit and killed…
