Wedding dress bought at Goodwill spurs memories of bride’s mother

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — A local woman bought her wedding dress at an unexpected shop — a Goodwill thrift store — and the phone call she made after is a memory she will always hold on to.

When one shops at a Goodwill store, they’ll often find something they were not originally looking for. That’s exactly what happened to Lauren Ling, and that something was her wedding gown.

“From across the store, I saw this beautiful gown and just felt called to it, so I went over there and set all of my other stuff down,” she said. “I was not even engaged at the time, but something was telling me I needed this dress.”

It was 14 sizes too big for her, but she bought it anyway…
