COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Two Mifflin Township police officers were shot Wednesday night and law enforcement officials said the “armed and dangerous” suspect remains on the loose.
Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said the incident started during a traffic stop at approximately 6:45 p.m. in the area of Perdue Avenue and Mecca Road near the northeast side of Columbus.

During the traffic stop, the passenger in the vehicle ran from the scene. As officers gave chase, the passenger turned and shot at them, hitting them. Baldwin said the shooting was “unprovoked.”
Baldwin cautioned anyone in the area of Perdue Avenue and Mecca Road to be careful as the suspect is considered “armed and dangerous” and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. He added that a firearm was recovered in the area, but did not know if it was the gun used by the suspect…
