Woman dies in Columbus hospital days after multi-car crash in Logan County

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A Logan County crash involving three vehicles last week turned fatal when one of the victims died over the weekend.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers from the Marysville Post responded to a crash on State Route 117, just north of County Road 222 in Huntsville, Ohio, on June 4 at 8:45 a.m.

An investigation revealed that two vehicles were involved in a crash while heading southbound, when a 2023 Volkswagen Taos failed to leave assured clear distance ahead of itself and struck the rear of a Tesla Model 3. The Volkswagen then veered left of center and crashed head-on into a 2024 Kia Soul which was traveling north.

The driver of the Kia, 37-year-old Ashley Thomas, of Bryan, Ohio in Williams County, was taken to an area hospital before being life-flighted to a Columbus hospital after suffering serious injuries. Five days later, she was pronounced dead…
