COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A woman who turned herself in after being named a suspect in the death of her grandmother was in court Friday afternoon.
According to court records, Ericka Carr, accused of fatally beating 54-year-old Yolanda Vaughn in South Linden on May 5, faced a Franklin County Court of Common Pleas judge for an arraignment hearing. Carr is charged with murder and felonious assault.
Carr, 31, surrendered to police on June 17 after she appeared on NBC4’s Warrant Watch, a collaboration between the station and the U.S. Marshals Service in efforts to detain fugitives with outstanding arrest warrants.

She had been wanted by deputies after allegedly beating Vaughn with a baseball bat repeatedly, then pushing her to the ground, where Vaughn struck her head on the Hiawatha Park Drive pavement. She was pronounced dead at 1:54 p.m. For a previous report on this story view the video player above.…
