The City of Dublin has officially named its newest autonomous safety robot: Dubbot. Following a community vote, the winning name reflects both the robot’s futuristic purpose and its local roots.
Dubbot, a K5 Autonomous Security Robot developed by California-based Knightscope, will support Dublin Police operations by patrolling high-traffic areas such as the Rock Cress Parking Garage, Riverside Crossing Park, and the Dublin Link pedestrian bridge. The AI-powered unit operates 12-hour shifts, returning to secure docks for recharging.
Equipped with 360-degree cameras, Dubbot provides real-time video feeds to officers, offers two-way emergency communication, and can broadcast alerts through lights and audio.
