34 Arrested in Franklin County Sheriff’s ‘Operation Unity’ Sweep, High-Speed Chase and Drag Racing Among Incidents

Last Wednesday, as part of the initiative dubbed Operation Unity, a sweep on the west side of Franklin County led to the arrest of 34 individuals, rounding up suspects engaged in various illegal activities, according to a press release from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. The crackdown, zeroing in on Franklin and Prairie Townships, resulted in the recovery of stolen vehicles and the seizure of over 100 grams of methamphetamine.

A high-speed pursuit erupted around 7 p.m. when deputies tried to stop a vehicle near Georgesville Road and Sullivant; the chase accelerated over 115 mph on I-270, but was halted for safety concerns, eventually law enforcement managed to deploy stop sticks, leading to the suspect’s vehicle crashing into a guard rail and the subsequent foot chase into the woods, where after a skirmish Ricardo Luis-Ruiz Pratts was detained, he is now facing several charges including Aggravated Robbery and Assault on a Police Officer…
