COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One person died and another was left in critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash Monday involving a semi-truck in southwest Columbus.
According to Columbus fire chief Jeffrey Geitter, a crash occurred at 12:42 p.m. at the intersection of Georgesville Road and Auto Mall Drive, where a car and a semi-truck collided. Geitter said two passengers of the car had to be extracted.

In a released incident report, police said that a 2003 Lincoln Town Car was traveling north on Georgesville Rd. and was attempting to make a left turn on Automall Dr., while at the same time a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia was heading southbound towards the same intersection.
The semi-truck struck the Lincoln on the passenger side and pushed it southwest corner of the intersection. Both the driver and passenger were taken to a hospital in critical condition, where 75-year-old Cathy Hewett died, according to police.
The driver of the Lincoln remains in critical condition and the driver of the semi-truck took himself to a hospital for an evaluation…
