DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Members of the Ohio Army National Guard have been activated for deployment.
According to the Ohio National Guard, roughly 160 members with the organization’s 1487thTransportation Company are being deployed Thursday to support Operation Spartan Shield.

The Piqua-based team is expected to be in the U.S. Central Command area for OSS during deployment. It is said by the organization the deploying unit will be providing transportation assets and supporting different units.
