Columbus gears up for Red, White & Boom with 400,000 spectators, heightened security

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Downtown Columbus is set to be bustling with activity Thursday night as the annual Red, White & Boom fireworks show draws more than 400,000 spectators.

Law enforcement will be present in full force, with both uniformed and plainclothes Columbus police officers on the ground. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Dive Team will patrol the waterways to ensure boaters adhere to safety regulations.
