COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An exciting train ride and festival designed to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial next year is sure to interest history buffs, vintage transportation enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
America 250-Ohio, the group organizing the Buckeye State’s activities marking the country’s 250th anniversary, has announced the 250 Buckeye Train & Transportation Celebration at the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum. In a news release, the state commission previewed what attendees can expect at the immersive event scheduled for April 2026.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the 250 Buckeye Train, a vintage railcar, will depart from Columbus on a four-hour trip along the historic Panhandle Pennsylvania Railroad line to Dennison, Ohio. While in town, passengers will enjoy the Transportation Celebration at the depot, a National Historic Landmark for its role in World War II, during a three-hour layover, before returning to the Capital City.
The journey will be repeated on Sunday, April 26, 2026, this time from Newark with a stop in Coshocton, before arriving in Dennison for the second day of festivities at the depot.
