A Columbus man has been found guilty of a deadly shooting that erupted in a Hilltop bar in 2022, resulting in two fatalities and leaving two other individuals injured. According to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, 25-year-old Anthony Davis was convicted on multiple counts, including four counts of murder and one count of aggravated murder, following the incident that sent shockwaves through the local community.
The convictions carry severe penalties, with Davis facing a minimum sentence of 26 years up to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Despite the weight of the sentence, the judge presiding over the case, Stephen McIntosh, chose to acquit Davis on an additional count of aggravated murder, and a further count of felonious assault was dismissed before the trial commenced. It has been reported that Davis’ sentencing is scheduled for September 8.
In a twist that adds to the gravity of his situation, Davis is also set to stand trial for another set of serious charges.
