While school’s out and the temperatures are peaking, some Ohio families might find their wallets getting a little thicker this summer. According to an announcement from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, a helping hand is coming in the form of financial food assistance for families with school-age children. It’s called Sun Bucks, part of the Summer EBT program, and it’s delivering some extra buying power for groceries.
How does it work? The Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer Program for Children (Summer EBT) gives a boost to eligible families to help them feed their youngsters while the school doors are closed for summer. “Eligible families will receive a onetime benefit of $120 for each eligible child,” detailed the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in a news release.
