Gap grows between rent in Ohio, tenants’ income: Report

(WKBN) — Full-time workers need to earn at least $22.51 an hour to afford a modest two-bedroom apartment in Ohio, an increase of almost $2 an hour from last year’s report, according to a new report.

The 2025 Out of Reach report was jointly released Thursday by the National Low Income Housing Coalition and the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO). It shows that the disparity between renters’ income and the cost of rent in Ohio has more than doubled since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
