COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — As we approach August, gas prices in Columbus are now below $3 per gallon.
According to GasBuddy, the average price for gas in Ohio’s capital is now at $2.96 a gallon, a decrease of 13 cents from last week’s average. This week’s price is also nearly one quarter lower than a month ago and more than 50 cents lower than at this point last year.
Currently in Columbus, there is gas as cheap as $2.39 a gallon in the city while the most expensive gas station had a price of $3.45 a gallon at the pump.

The national average from week-to-week decreased marginally by just under two cents to a price of $3.09 per gallon. That is still 11.5 cents cheaper than last month and nearly 40 cents cheaper than in July of 2024…
