Victims in fiery far north Columbus crash were recent Scioto High School grads

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The two victims in a fiery far north Columbus crash on Sunday were recent graduates of Dublin Scioto High School, according to a statement from the school’s principal.

“It is with profound sadness that we share news of a tragic loss in our school community,” Principal Tom Cochran said in a letter to families. “On Sunday, two recent Scioto High School graduates from the Class of 2025 lost their lives following a serious car accident.”

Cochran said a current student was also injured in the crash.

The crash happened on Sawmill Road north of Sawmill Drive when an adult driving lost control of the car and hit a utility pole, Columbus police said. The car caught fire. One juvenile was in the passenger seat, and another was in the rear seat. Watch previous coverage in the player above.
