COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Columbus police officer was relieved of duty due to a criminal investigation in another state.
Sgt. Nicholas Reaper is under investigation in another state in connection with an incident that happened in 2023 while he was on military leave, according to a CPD spokesperson. Details about the investigation were not disclosed.
“While the alleged criminal activity did not occur in our jurisdiction, we take these matters seriously,” Sgt. Joe Albert said in a statement. “The integrity of our Division and the trust of the community we serve remain our highest priorities.
