Columbus police implementing monthly enforcement zones on some streets

COLUMBUS, Ohio — As part of an effort to eliminate crash-related deaths on city streets, the Columbus Division of Police announced in a press release Thursday that they will be implementing “monthly enforcement zones.”

“These focused enforcement efforts reflect the Division’s commitment to Vision Zero, an initiative aimed at achieving zero crash deaths on city streets by 2035,” the release reads. “Speed is a fundamental factor in fatal crashes, especially for vulnerable road users like people walking or biking who, if struck by a driver traveling 40 miles per hour or above, are less likely to survive.”…
