Man hospitalized after truck, train collide in Hilliard

HILLIARD, Ohio (WCMH) – A man has been hospitalized after a train and a truck collided in Hilliard Tuesday morning.

According to Hilliard police, the man was taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries after a train and truck collided at a railroad crossing near the intersection of Leap Road and Northwest Parkway in Hilliard. He is listed in stable condition at the hospital.

The incident occurred just after 8 a.m. and the entire area of Leap Road, Northwest Parkway, Reynolds Drive and the railroad track itself in that area is shut down, in part to repair the arm of the crossing, which was broken during the crash.

Police have not released information about the victim or their condition as the investigation remains in the early stages, but did note that the railroad crossing will be closed “for quite some time”. The Norwich Township Fire Department reported that that victim was in stable condition.
