On July 28, 2025, Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judge Marianne T. Hemmeter sentenced Karin Humphrey, a 54-year-old Delaware woman, to 20-25.5 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to 2 counts of possession of cocaine, both felonies of the first degree with 1 count carrying a major drug offender specification, and 1 count of obstructing official business, a felony of the fifth degree. The major drug offender specification required an 11-year sentence of mandatory prison time.
In October of 2024, the Delaware County Drug Task Force received numerous tips that Humphrey was engaged in drug trafficking. After investigating the tips and complaints from the community and establishing that Humphrey was trafficking narcotics, the DTF executed a search warrant on her residence and located over 375 grams of cocaine. A second search warrant was executed at a later date and an additional 200 grams of cocaine was seized from her residence. While awaiting her jury trial, Humphrey cut off her GPS monitor and fled.
