Bond set for man accused of biting off security guard’s finger at south Columbus Kroger

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A man who is accused of biting off part of the finger of a security guard at a south Columbus Kroger appeared in court Thursday morning.

LA Willis, 58, was being directed away from the Kroger on Parsons Avenue Wednesday afternoon when he allegedly bit off the top of the security guard’s thumb, police said.

The security guard told police he was taken to the ground and that’s when Willis allegedly bit his thumb “and did not let go until part of his thumb came off,” according to the complaint.

Willis was familiar to the security guard, who said he’s interacted with him six or seven times in the 30 days he’s worked at the store…
