LANCASTER, Ohio (WCMH) — Court documents revealed that a Columbus woman, who is among two charged in the murder of a Lancaster man, told police her boyfriend intended to kill the victim.
Holly McDaniel, 45, and John Scott, 44, appeared in Fairfield County municipal court Tuesday morning for their respective arraignment hearings after being arrested Saturday. Police said that Scott had done yard work for the victim, who police said was 81-year-old Gary Franke.
On Saturday evening, police were called to the 700 block of South Maple Street in Lancaster for a well-being check and found Franke’s body nearby in a wooded area. Scott and McDaniel were arrested with court documents saying Scott admitted to shooting him and that McDaniel was brought to the scene to help move the body and cover it with brush.
