Columbus Crackdown: STING Task Force Seizes Cocaine and Cash, Arrests Suspected Trafficker

As reported by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a significant drug bust unfolded in Columbus, where the Sheriff’s Office Specialized Tactics & Investigative Narcotics Group (STING) conducted a carefully orchestrated operation. This resulted in the seizure of drugs and cash on Monday. STING detectives raided two residential locations, leading to the arrest of a 34-year-old Fred Thompson, who now faces serious felony drug charges, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, in a social media post.

In the course of the dual raids on Bryden Road and Pontiac Street, substantial quantities of narcotics, including roughly 1,370 grams of suspected cocaine and 52.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine, were confiscated as detectives also recovered what they suspect is over $18,000 in drug trafficking proceeds from the Bryden Road site, reinforcing the depth of this alleged trafficking operation.
