Victim fatally stabbed in Columbus identified

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Columbus police identified the man who was fatally stabbed in the Weinland Park area last week.

Officers went to the 1200 block of Summit Street on August 22 before 1 a.m. after a fight between two people. One of them, identified as 24-year-old Petes K. Laurent-Baptisma, was stabbed and was pronounced dead at the hospital two days later. After another two days, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.

No one has been charged in the death yet. Police know the identity of the other person in the altercation, but say they are not being named and that the case will be presented to a Franklin County grand jury…
