COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police say they are taking steps to address a surge in car break-ins across the city, announcing several arrests and the creation of a dedicated task force targeting high-theft areas.
Over the past few weeks, hundreds of vehicles have been broken into, with windows smashed and property stolen. The Columbus Division of Police confirmed in a recent social media post that the break-ins have become a widespread issue this summer.
