Ex-Columbus officer Adam Coy appeals murder conviction

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A former Columbus Division of Police officer who was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison appealed his conviction this week.

Adam Coy was convicted of murder, reckless homicide and felonious assault for the shooting death of Andre Hill nearly five years ago. He was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison last month.

On Dec. 22, 2020, Coy was called to Oberlin Avenue to investigate a disturbance. He said the complaint was for an SUV that was turning on and off repeatedly for several hours…
