DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Nearly three years after Ohio voters approved recreational marijuana, the statehouse is still debating potential changes to the law.
Senate Bill 56 was approved by that chamber earlier this year and is currently awaiting attention from the Ohio House.
According to an analysis by the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, SB 56 would change the voter-approved version of the law by:
- Reducing the number of plants that can be grown at a single residence to six. Voters approved a maximum of 12 if there were multiple people living at the home.
- Cutting the maximum THC allowed to 70 percent from 90 percent.
- Requiring users to smoke or vape only inside a private residence.
