COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A member of the violent criminal organization known as the Third World Mob was sentenced to 310 months in prison by a U.S. District Court today. Klegewerges Abate, 36, of Columbus, was convicted in August 2024 after an eight-day trial. Jurors deliberated for less than six hours before finding him guilty on all counts.
Abate, also known by aliases “Bells,” “Robell,” and “Sosa,” was convicted of conspiring to traffic at least 1,000 kilograms of marijuana, firearms offenses, and wire fraud related to illegally obtaining COVID-19 pandemic relief funds.
Court documents and trial testimony revealed that Third World Mob members transported hundreds of pounds of marijuana into Ohio from states such as California and Georgia for sale in central Ohio.
