FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — Homicides in Columbus are trending downward, but more teens are ending up in juvenile court on murder charges.
Franklin County Juvenile Court Judge Lasheyl Stroud said the impact reaches both victims’ and suspects’ families, who often find themselves sitting on opposite sides of her courtroom.
“It is very unfortunate, to say the least, for any family to experience this,” Stroud said. “In juvenile court, oftentimes it could be the same family who’s charged as well as the family who has lost a life.”…
