Columbus’ South Side initiative connects neighbors to job opportunities

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A group of women on Columbus’ South Side are working to connect their neighbors with job opportunities and workforce training programs to promote economic mobility.

South Side Thrive Collaborative has selected five people for this year’s Resident Ambassador program. The Resident Ambassadors are people who live in the South Side who help guide other residents to employment opportunities and resources.

“I hear a lot of time people say, ‘There’s no jobs in Columbus, there’s nowhere to work,’ and I’m like ‘No, that’s not necessarily true. You might not be looking in the right direction,'” said Charla Woods-Favors, one of this year’s Resident Ambassadors…
