New documents detail abuse allegations against ex-daycare worker

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — New details have emerged in the case against a former daycare worker in Licking County, accused of binding a toddler with tape.

Katelyn Strohacker faces five counts of kidnapping and 14 counts of endangering children. She has since pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation to determine if she is competent to stand trial.

She was arrested in August after allegations of abuse at Over the Rainbow Children’s Center in Pataskala, Ohio, where she was employed for over three years. Previous charging documents stated that a parent of an almost two-year-old was informed by the daycare director on August 7 that Strohacker had bound and left the toddler in a bed for an hour on July 21, 2025.
