Ohio couple indicted on nearly 200 counts in alleged $11.5M Ponzi scheme

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two Butler Township residents have been indicted, accused of taking more than $11 million in investment dollars from their victims in an alleged Ponzi scheme.

The couple faces nearly 200 charges related to the alleged fraud, and could face multiple life sentences.

During an Oct. 16 press conference, Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck, Jr. identified Essex and Associate owners Wayne and Susan Essex as the heads of the Ponzi scheme.
