Serial bank robber ‘Average Joe’ back behind bars, charged with Grove City bank heist

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Daniel Schwarberg, a 68-year-old serial bank robber once dubbed the “Average Joe” by the FBI, is back behind bars after allegedly robbing a WesBanco branch in Grove City on Oct. 15.

Franklin County Charging documents state that Schwarberg was wearing a hard hat and a yellow construction vest, and reportedly handed a note to the teller demanding “all the 10’s, 50’s, and 100’s from both your drawers” and assured, “I don’t want to hurt you or your friends.”
