Lawsuit advances, holding two automakers accountable for design flaws in stolen vehicles

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Nearly two years after 36-year-old Mathew Moshi, a father of two, lost his life in a crash involving a stolen Kia, a federal lawsuit against Kia America and Hyundai is moving forward.

The lawsuit, filed by Columbus law firm Schiff and Associates, on behalf of Moshi’s family and a Columbus man severely injured in a similar incident involving a stolen Hyundai, alleges the automakers were negligent under Ohio law for failing to address design flaws that allowed thieves to easily steal the vehicles…
