Central Ohio gas prices continue to climb as the rest of the county gets relief

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Despite a small drop nationally in the price of gasoline, central Ohio gas prices continued to climb after a regional bump the previous week due to Midwest refinery issues and an unexpected spike in demand nationwide.

According to GasBuddy’s survey of 500 stations in and around Columbus, Ohio, gas prices have risen 18.2 cents from last week, doubling the previous week’s hike, averaging out at $3.22 per gallon. The current price is 26.1 cents per gallon higher than four weeks ago as well as 34 cents higher than this time one year ago.
