COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A state review of the deaths of five Franklin County children identified a single violation of required standards with children services, according to the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY).
The children died in separate incidents over a 15-month period, and all their families were involved with Franklin County Children Services (FCCS). A parent or caregiver has been criminally charged in each case.
“There was one compliance issue in one case where monthly contact attempts were not made according to (Ohio Administrative Code) requirements,” DCY Chief Communications Officer Jodi Norton Trimble said. “This was discussed with FCCS at the time the fatality occurred and the DCY Technical Assistance team is actively partnering with FCCS to support practices related to quality face-to-face contacts.”…
