OHIO, USA — The Ohio House of Representatives has passed a bill that would, if it becomes law, allow consumers to receive credit on their electricity bill for subscribing to solar projects.
According to a summary from the Ohio House, the bill would create a framework to develop community energy facilities in Ohio. The bill would amend Ohio energy policy to encourage the development of these facilities and the establishment of a Community Energy Pilot Program.
According to one of its primary sponsors, Representative James Hoops, the bill is intended to create a “more competitive energy market by leveraging free market principles and private capital investments.”…
